Air intake manifolds – turbocharger active
Air intake manifolds – turbocharger active: injection molding expertise gets the air spinning.
Turbochargers with a gearshift are as exciting as they are complex in terms of their inner working. Compared with classic turbochargers, systems with turbochargers with a gearshift in the intake tract have a selector shaft. As a result, they require a considerable amount of expertise in terms of manufacturing technology. In active turbochargers, the air does not revolve around the cylinder axis but is rotated by 90°. The injection molding of the internal structures is correspondingly complex.
Once we have moulded our high-performance plastics, the next step is welding, followed by final assembly and comprehensive quality assurance.
